Minimum Wages Act - 1948

As per the Indian Constitution, 'Minimum Wage' has been defined as the level of income for Highly skilled, skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled workers which ensures a sustaining standard of living while also providing for some measure of comfort. A minimum wage not just supports of employment, but also seeks for viable continuous improvement. It aims at preventing exploitation of labour.

न्‍यूनतम मजदूरी अधिनियम, 1948

भारतीय संविधान के अनुसार, 'न्यूनतम वेतन' असंगठित क्षेत्र के मजदूरों को सुरक्षा प्रदान करने के उद्देश्य से तथा उनके हितों की रक्षा के लिए यह कानून बनाया गया। जिसमें मजदूरी की न्यूनतम दरों का निर्धारण करना, समय पर मजदूरी का भुगतान करना तथा समयोपरि भत्ता इत्यादि की उचित दरें तय कर भुगतान कराना इस कानून का उद्देश्य रहा है।
